Paul Suchar

Paul came to Croatia in 1996 to set up the taxation, legal and bookkeeping practices for KPMG in Croatia, and he later did the same for KPMG in Bosnia & Herzegovina, building a team of 70 professionals in Zagreb, Sarajevo and Banja Luka.

As partner in charge of these practices, he led inward and outward investment structuring and restructuring for the full range of local and international clients--individuals, SMEs and global corporations. He also successfully lobbied for change in government regulations and legislation to promote business efficacy in Croatia. After working and living in Croatia for almost 30 years, Paul has developed close relationships with numerous global advisors working in various industries in Croatia and the United Kingdom and other countries.

Though recently retired from KPMG, Paul maintains connections with countless industry and government leaders in Croatia.  Since his early days in Croatia, Paul has had a close working relationship with the British Embassy in Zagreb, which culminated in the former UK Ambassador to Croatia, Simon Thomas, asking Paul to lead the BBCC in its mission to bring together British and Croatian businesses.

When not focused on the BBCC, Paul serves as a Board Member for the Croatian Association for Guide Dog Training and Mobility (www.psivodici.hr) and also fosters labrador puppies to socialise them before they are trained as assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities.
